As the school year drew to a close, many 2010’s graduating high school seniors received a little extra cash alongside their diplomas courtesy of the Apple Federal Credit Union Education Foundation.
More than $60,000 was awarded to 21 students, including George Mason High School's Hannah Gann. The awards, totalling $2,000 each, are to better expand their horizons through continued education.

“We believe scholarships have the ability to change the lives of students,” says Apple FCU Education Foundation Executive Director Mike Engley. “Supporting graduates in their pursuit of a higher education is one important way the Foundation works to impact the lives of students, teachers and the community.”
Gann was also selected this year as a National Merit Scholarship finalist.
