Registration Process:
ALL new students (PK – 1st) fill out an enrollment form online and then bring their documents into school to complete the registration process.
Parents or guardians must notify the school if they have a child who will begin school in September. In order to register a new student, parents or guardians must complete the online enrollment form and then contact the school office for more information. The parents/guardians of ALL returning students re-register online each year.
Kindergarten Registration:
Kindergarten registration is held in the spring.
Beginning in January, the registration process is advertised in the community. Enrollment materials are mailed to families of new
kindergarten students prior to the spring registration event.
Kindergarten Eligibility:
Children who will be five on or before September
30th and meet residency requirements are eligible to attend kindergarten.
Kindergarten Schedule:
The first two weeks of kindergarten in September
are designed to give children a comfortable start to their new experience.
School begins the Tuesday after Labor Day and children attend an abbreviated
schedule for the first two weeks. Extended day care is available
during
this time if students are registered in advance. See the day care Web site for details.
Parents provide transportation for the first two school
days. After the first two school days, the school system provides bus
transportation.
Parent conferences will be scheduled for the first
two weeks during afternoon hours. Parents will be notified by letter
of their appointment time to meet with their child and his or her teacher.
Regular hours go into effect for kindergarten
students on the third week of school. See the Contact Information page for school hours.
First Grade Schedule:
First grade students follow the regular schedule
beginning with the first day of school. See the Contact Information page for school hours. Extended day care is available
during
this time for children who are pre-registered.
PreSchool Schedule:
The August parent packet
for preschool students contains information about the preschool schedule.
Student-Parent-Teacher Orientation:
Individual conferences are held for kindergartners
and their parents during the first two weeks of school. These conferences
are designed to help the teachers get acquainted with parents and children
in order to maximize student growth and development.
Parent-Teacher Communication:
Planned conferences will be scheduled during
the first quarter of the school year. Parents can also communicate
