It wasn't the regional finish either team had hoped for, but being runners-up is good enough to send both George Mason boys and girls varsity basketball teams to the Virginia High School League (VHSL) state tournament this Saturday. The two Mustang teams, led in scoring by Nate Ogle (left) and Stephanie Cheney, fell in the Region B finals at Eastern Mennonite University on Saturday.
Both teams will appear in the VHSL Quarterfinals. The boys will face Essex High School (22-4) and the Lady Mustangs will play against Sussex High (16-4).
