On Friday afternoon a rush of seniors was seen running toward the dragon ramp, holding everything from speakers to yarn to make their hallway the best. As the 5th, element they had some tough challenges facing them and had to think outside of the box to make sure that the hallway was living up to show true Mason spirit.  With the results in today, it shows that their enthusiasm and hard work paid off, putting them in first place.

The sophomores heated up the competition with Pokemon cards, streamers, and flames throughout the math hallway. This demonstrated the immense creativity and efforts that sparked a second place finish. This red hot hallway not only reflected the element of fire, but showed great pride in Mason spirit. Will this burning passion light their way to the top?

Juniors sailed away from their water hallway with blue faces. With a shocking, unexpected fourth place, students were drowning in defeat. Waves of people crowded around the hallway leading up to the senior alcoves to admire the tide, sailors, mermaids, and crabs. Juniors alike are now just "wading" for another chance to prove their Mason spirit.

The 8th graders showed that they could compete with the high schoolers by earning 3rd place in hall decorating. Fully exploring their Wind theme, the Gr8s strung together paper airplanes, glued together some cotton ball clouds and truly did blow the upperclassmen away in surprise with their spirit.

The primitive nature of the freshman did not pay off, resulting in a fifth place finish. The cavemen and hieroglyphics just weren’t enough to please SCA judges. This decorative hallway, located outside of the cafeteria was deemed not appetizing enough to beat out their competitors. These down to earth freshmen successfully created a cave theme, but they were seemingly sheltered in thinking outside of the box.
