wrestlingThe Mason wrestlers were once again victorious on January 31, as they walked out of the pit winning 39-33 against Potomac High School, 39-30 against Essex high School, and only losing one of their matches 42-36 against Warren County High School.

Junior Teddy Rueckert, and seniors David Ray, Jake Schwind, and Tim Hillegass all walked out 3-0 winning all their matches for the day.  Junior Manuel Veiga-Diaz, sophomore Jackson Thomas, and freshmen Alborz Alaeddini and Danny Sedita all walked out 2-1 winning all but one of their matches for the day. “My first match got me ready for all my others. Winning prepared me for all my other fights,” Danny Sedita, freshman, commented after his first fight of the day.

Even though the team had lost to only one school, they were still able to have two victories and perform as well they could. “I’m pleased with the way they preformed; the younger guys are tough and coming along well and the experienced guys went out there and did what they were suppose to,” Coach Bryan Harris stated after the meet. Their next meet is the Bull Run District Tournament at Manassas Park on February 7 at 10 a.m.
