At the Central High School Cheer Invitational on Saturday, October 16, the George Mason competition squad performed at their second competition to a gym filled with a panel of intimidating judges.
When the squad arrived after travelling two hours by bus, there was a flurry of stretching, last minute reassurance of counts, and glitter. They had a practice period and an opening ceremony in which all nine squads competing were represented, and then the competition began.
After their last competition, the squad decided to make some major changes so that they could keep improving. They only had a week to perfect their routine, and were nervous about the outcome. The squad didn’t need to be worried though, as they performed very well, without falling during any stunts. Although the squad did not place in that competition, they are very happy and proud of their performance.
