The Falls Church City Public Schools World Languages Department is currently reviewing textbooks. The following are being recommended and the public is invited to review it and provide comments for the department’s consideration:

After months of preparation in PE class, TJ students completed the Mile Run today! Running a mile sounds like a big deal the first time you hear about it, but when you train with Mrs. Huber and Mr. Greiner, students learn that they can do it!
The Falls Church City Public Schools is collaborating with the Mid-Atlantic Dairy Association to promote breakfast and milk for two weeks starting on Monday.
George Mason’s band and choir students’ long awaited trip to New York occurred over the weekend of April 20. The members of the two musical groups met at school at 5:30 a. m. for their six-hour bus journey to the Big Apple.

The Falls Church School Board recognized 23 local companies and community organizations for their strong support of the divisionʼs schools. They were honored as part of the Virginia School Boards Associationʼs (VSBA) 2013 Business Honor Roll program.
Newsweek Magazine and its online sister,"The Daily Beast" has released its ranking of "America's Best High Schools" and George Mason High School leads all traditional public schools in Virginia, and all schools of all types in Maryland and D.C.
Beginning on May 14, it is very important that our students arrive at school on time and avoid appointments in the morning. Well-rested and well-fed students will have an easier time concentrating on the Virginia Standards of Learning tests. Students are encouraged to view this testing experience as an opportunity to demonstrate how knowledgable they are!

Although librarian’s assistant, Mrs. Lynette Kemp, calls her prom in 1985 ultimately “unmemorable,” her prom dress has gotten much use as a dress-up gown for her daughters as well as a costume in the theatre department.
Christina Holman, a senior at George Mason High School in Falls Church, Virginia, has been selected as a 2013 Gates Millennium Scholar.
